Terengganu to meet Tenaga in TNB Cup final

KUALA LUMPUR: Defending champion Terengganu will face league champions Tenaga Nasional in the TNB Cup final tomorrow at the National Hockey Stadium.

Terengganu defeated Maybank 3-1 in the semi-final second leg at Bukit Jalil yesterday to advance 6-2 on aggregate.

Tenaga outplayed University Teknologi Mara (UiTM) 5-1 in the semi-final second leg and qualified 8-2 on aggregate.

Maybank started well by taking the lead through Razie Rahim off a penalty corner in the second minute but Terengganu rallied by scoring three goals through Faizal Saari in the 16th and 47th, and Ismail Abu in the 28th.

In the other match, Tenaga scored through Azrai Aizad Abu Kamal (third), Jang Jong Hyun (36th), Nik Aiman Nik Rozemi (40th), captain Syed Syafiq Syed Cholan (45th) and Shahril Saabah (60th). UiTM replied through Zul Pidaus Mizun in the 33rd.

Meanwhile, Malaysian University will face China's Liaoning in the Vivian May Soars Cup final tomorrow.

The university side defeated defending champions Negri Sembilan 4-1 in Seremban in the semi-final second leg for an 8-2 aggregate win.

Liaoning and PDRM Blue Warriors played to a 0-0 draw, but the China team qualified on a 3-0 aggregate.
