Nwakaeme's back with Pahang

KUANTAN: Pahang have confirmed that Dickson Nwakaeme, who played for them back in 2014 to 2015, will be returning to their fold for the coming Malaysia League (M-League) season.

Confirmation on Nwakaeme’s return was announced by team manager, Datuk Mohammed Suffian Awang who hopes that the presence of the powerful Nigerian forward will bolster the Elephants frontline.

"This is very good news not just for the team, but for the supporters as well, who have been awaiting his return since he first played for us for two seasons a couple of years ago.

"We are hoping the Nwakaeme’s vast experience will help the team and be a catalyst for better things to come throughout the season.

"Known as ‘Man of Steel’ during his first stint with Pahang, Nwakaeme is hoped will be able to replicate his fine form with the team’s current line-up of players including the other foreign imports,” he said.

During his first season with Pahang back in 2014, Nwakaeme helped the Elephants to win three titles, namely the Malaysia Cup, FA Cup and Charity Shield.

At that time, Nwakaeme linked up with Argentine Matias Conti upfront for the Elephants which excited and thrilled their fans.

In 2017, Nwakaeme’s name was being mentioned as it was rumored that the 32-year-old Nigerian would be making a return to Pahang during the second transfer window, but it was denied by the team’s management.

With the team’s management now confirming that Nwakaeme will indeed be returning to add bite to Pahang’s attack, they now have four foreign imports in the ranks with Nwakaeme, 20-year-old Indonesian international winger Saddil Ramdani, 30-year-old Frenchman Herold Goulon and versatile Singapore international Safuwan Baharudin.
