Perak, PJ City share the spoils in goalless draw

KUALA LUMPUR: PJ City FC parked the bus in Ipoh and earned a point from their 0-0 draw against Perak FC in Sunday's Super League clash.

The all-local PJ City side did well to contain Perak, who had four foreigners in their line up, with their defensive approach at the Perak Stadium.

The Bos Gaurus showed they were hungry for a win by creating several chances.

Raianderson Morais had a chance, but his attempt hardly troubled PJ City in the opening minutes.

PJ City's Darren Lok paired up with R. Kogileswaran in attack, but they lacked the understanding.

Perak's best chance came in the 47th minute through Shakir Hamzah.

The Singaporean's attempt from outside the penalty box beat PJ City goalkeeper Kalamullah Al-Hafiz Mat Rowi, but not the crossbar.

PJ City coach P. Maniam was shown a yellow card in the 84th minute for kicking the ball into the field.

The draw maintained Perak's unbeaten record at home in a season-opening match since 2004, but the result hardly serves confidence for them ahead of upcoming matches.
