Procedures followed in Insa case

The FA of Malaysia (FAM) disciplinary committee are not purposely trying to delay the hearing of the Natxo Insa case.

The national body stressed that the case will be heard soon.

The Johor Darul Tazim midfielder had shoved referee Azriel Baharudin in the 2-2 draw against Perak on March 21.

A video showing Insa committing the offence will likely be used as evidence.

FAM secretary-general Stuart Ramalingam dispelled critics stating that the disciplinary committee are not deliberately delaying the case.

Critics raised an issue after the disciplinary committee were swift in punishing four players, including Kelantan's Jack Hindle and PJ City's Khairil Anuar Zamri, last week.

Hindle got away with a warning for pushing the referee during a Premier League match on March 6, while Khairil was handed a two-match suspension for diving during the Super League clash against Melaka on March 10.

"FAM are not trying to delay the Insa case. Wednesday's disciplinary committee meeting was for offences committed in the opening two rounds.

"After this, cases on match-day three, four and five will be heard by the disciplinary committee. Insa's incident took place on match-day five.

"The disciplinary committee are an independent body, and the national body are not involved in any decision-making.

"Punishing a player or official is not as simple as watching a video and handing out fines or penalties.

"There are processes to follow before a case is brought forward for a hearing," said Stuart.
