Clubs not following Covid-19 guidelines?

Are M-League clubs committed to protecting their players and coaches from the Covid-19 pandemic?

Yesterday, a player claimed that his Premier League team are not taking the Covid-19 guidelines seriously as several footballers at the club are now battling the virus.

He alleged that the management are sweeping Covid-19 positive cases under the carpet.

According to him, the team did not undergo swab tests before their last two Premier League matches.

One player at the club had Covid-19 symptoms on May 8, a day after they played a match, and six days later, he was tested positive.

Another player also tested positive for Covid-19 on May 10.

On May 17, the management ordered the team not to train as two players and three coaches tested positive.

"It is quite shocking to see so many cases in the team. I hope they will take Covid-19 seriously as players have families at home," said the player.

"I am worried about the rising cases in the country, and now there are cases in the team. I hope the team management will take the necessary precaution to prevent more cases."

On May 2, two players from the Kelantan team had tested positive for Covid-19 before their game against Selangor II.

Following that, the Malaysian Football League (MFL) ordered all matches in the Klang Valley to be played behind closed doors.

MFL require teams to test their players at least once in seven days for Covid-19. All clubs have to undergo an RTK Antigen test before checking into the team hotel ahead of a match.
