South Korean Pan Gon to coach Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: South Korean Kim Pan Gon will be the new national football coach of Malaysia, said FAM today.

The former Hong Kong national coach, who will be in charge of Harimau Malaya for two years, is expected to arrive in Kuala Lumpur next month.

FAM president Datuk Hamidin Amin said Pan Gon met the national association's criteria for the job.

Pan Gon will replace Tan Cheng Hoe, who resigned last month following Malaysia's failure in the AFF Cup in Singapore.

Hamidin said Pan Gon will come with four technical staff, and he has agreed on a two-year contract with a two-year extension.
