Kedah, Sabah reach FA Cup second round

KUALA LUMPUR: Super League's Kedah and Sabah recorded convincing victories today to reach the second round of the FA Cup.

The Red Eagles thrashed M3 League side Sains 4-0 at the Darulaman Stadium in Alor Setar.

Fayadh Zulkifli (18th and 47th minutes) and Amer Azahar (50th and 60th) were the toast of Kedah with two goals each.

At the Likas Stadium in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah scored twice in the second half in their 2-0 win over M3 League's Respect FC.

The Rhinos took the lead in the 50th minute through Ummareng Bacok, while Nazirul Naim Che Hashim extended their lead five minutes from time.

Another first-round match between Melaka United and PIB FC was called off today after the former recorded 15 Covid-19 positive cases.

Sabah and Kedah now join Selangor, Penang and Kelantan United in the second round.
