KUALA LUMPUR: KL City defeated hosts Viettel of Vietnam 6-5 on penalties to march into the AFC Cup Asean final at Thong Nhat Stadium today.
The match went into penalties when both teams failed to score after extra-time.
KL goalkeeper Azri Ghani was the hero when he blocked Viettel's Bui Duy Thuong's attempt from the penalty spot.
The reigning Malaysia Cup champions will face Indonesia's PSM Makassar in the final on Aug 24.
