National Stadium's pitch 'damaged' by Coldplay's concert

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Stadium's pitch will have to be repaired, yet again, after the "damage" from the Coldplay concert on Wednesday.

Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) owner Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim had uploaded a picture of the pitch in its latest condition on his Instagram.

And one can see that there is "damage" to the pitch which is believed to have happened after the popular British band's performance at the stadium.

Tunku Ismail, who had reportedly contributed RM1.4 million for the use of zeon zoysia grass, had uploaded the photo without comments or captions.

The National Stadium is also scheduled to host the Malaysia Cup final between JDT and Terengganu on Dec 8.

Earlier this month, when the national team played Kyrgyzstan in a World Cup qualifier at Bukit Jalil, its pitch was in near immaculate conditions.

Coldplay's concert saw 75,000 fans converging on the stadium.
