BG Pathum determined to break their duck after wretched ACL season

JOHOR BARU: BG Pathum United FC are determined to achieve their first win of the season when they play Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) in the Asian Champions League (ACL) at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium tomorrow.

BG Pathum coach Surachai Jaturapattarapong said bringing home three points from the Group I clash would offer some form of consolation after losing all their ACL matches so far this season.

Jaturapattarapong, however, does not expect the match to be easy as JDT have quality players such as Bergson Da Silva, Heberty Fernandes and Arif Aiman Hanapi.

"We have to pay close attention to all three players as they all have the ability to finish well," said Jaturapattarapong today.

"We know Heberty well as he has played in Thailand before while Bergson is their top scorer. Arif is a star player for them and he drives their attack.

"Arif played well when they came to Thailand, he was able to cause a lot of trouble to our defence and scored twice.

"I think without these three players, JDT's strength would drop by about 30 to 40 per cent."

BG Pathum captain Surach Yooyen said the squad are in a determined mood as they aim to clinch their first win from what will be their last match in ACL this season.

Yooyen said the squad are in good shape and are prepared to upset JDT at their home ground.

"This year's ACL campaign has been disappointing as we have failed to collect a single point," he said.

"This is our last chance to collect some points.

"We know JDT are the best team in Malaysia and have been dominant this season. We have to work hard and play well if we want to bring home the three points."
