Cools will do 'whatever it takes' to help Harimau Malaya win in Doha

KUALA LUMPUR: Centre-back Dion Cools will do whatever it takes to help Harimau Malaya win a few matches in Group E of the Asian Cup in Doha.

Malaysia will open their campaign against Jordan on Monday.

"I would do anything for us to win a game. It would be an amazing achievement to qualify for the next round. We are capable of doing it. This is the most important thing," said Cools.

"I will run and fight to make sure that we win ."

He is also unfazed by well-built teams in Group E.

"We have our own qualities to counter well-built players. It won't be an issue.

"Players from Jordan and Bahrain are slightly taller, but it could be a disadvantage for them against us as some are small in stature.

The Buriram United player declared that he is injury-free for the tournament.

"I feel 100 per cent because it's only been half a season in Thailand, so there are no physical issues," said Cools.

"It's nice to have some time with the team to relax, but I am ready to play all games. I am ready to go."

After Jordan, Kim Pan Gon's side will face Bahrain on Jan 20, followed by South Korea five days later.
