Eldstal says Harimau ready to hunt in Doha

KUALA LUMPUR: Junior Eldstal feels that Harimau Malaya won't be easy meat in the Asian Cup in Doha.

He said the Malaysia team will be competitive in Group E.

He said Harimau Malaya will not feel inferior against South Korea, Jordan and Bahrain.

"Our mindset is not to come here (Qatar) to participate but to compete," said Eldstal.

"We have belief in the team and we're here to do something special. We just have to stay focused and hopefully, make Malaysia proud and to enjoy the moment as well."

Kim Pan Gon's side have been in Qatar since New Year's Day and acclimatising to the conditions there. They will have a tune-up match against Syria on Monday.

"We know Syria is a strong side. We played them in Chengdu (last September) and drew 2-2. This is a good test before we play Jordan (Jan 15)," said Eldstal.
