KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian golfer Gavin Green was among the leaders in a stellar field after the second round of the Czech Masters.
The big-hitting 24-year-old Gavin shot a 12-under-132 in Prague.
He shared the leaderboard with the likes of two-time major winner John Daly, Belgian Thomas Pieters and England’s Callum Tarren.
Gavin, who has yet to record a top-10 finishing this season on the professional tour, pulled away from the pack after starting his round on a high with three birdies.
But he suffered a double bogey on the 16th and a bogey on the 17th.
However, the Malaysian recovered by firing four consecutive birdies for a four-under-par 68 at the RM4.75 million tournament.
Other notable professionals on the European Tour field this week include three-time major winner Padraig Harrington, last week’s Nordea Masters champion Paul Waring and 2016 Masters champ Danny Willet.
