KUALA LUMPUR: Gavin Green produced an impressive performance on the third day of the €2.5million (RM12million) European Masters to move up from joint 36th to joint eighth at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club in Switzerland on Saturday.
The Malaysian posted a seven-under par 63 with three consecutive birdies on the front nine, followed by four straight birdies on the back nine, making up for a three-day total of nine-under par 201.
The 24-year-old, who is currently ranked 81st on the Race to Dubai rankings, was one of the two professionals on the field to card a 63 with the other being tournament leader and 2015 British Masters winner, Matthew Fitzpatrick of England.
It is Gavin’s first professional season on the European Tour.
