Razlan hints at his departure from RNF Racing

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Razlan Razali is believed to be leaving the CryptoDATA RNF Racing MotoGP Team.

The co-owner and team principal of the outfit posted a farewell message on his social media accounts last night.

"It has been an amazing run. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to manage and own a MotoGP team in the world championships," Razlan said.

"We know what it's like to win and lose, especially the latter. (I) worked with the most amazing team members from all over the world.

"We discovered a world champion in Fabio (Quartararo), we were nearly world champion with Frankie (Morbidelli), we had the greatest of all time, Valentino Rossi, and also MotoGP legend Andrea Dovizioso.

"We also took a risk in Darryn (Binder) and (had) the fastest dentist in the world with Miguel (Oliveira), as well as a champion in waiting, Raul (Fernandez).

"The team was my extended family, my second home and we should be proud of what we have achieved and become.

"What lies ahead? It will be another beginning, albeit a different one, and I shall watch with the greatest encouragement and excitement."

Razlan is in Valencia for the final round of the MotoGP season.

RNF have yet to officially confirm his future. An announcement is expected next week.

Rumours have been spreading that new owners and sponsors will be coming on board for next season.

The MotoGP squad originally started out as the Sepang Racing Team (SRT) and raced with Petroliam Nasional Bhd's (Petronas) backing as title sponsors between 2019-2021. Petronas parted ways at the end of the 2021 season.

Razlan took over ownership of the team from Sepang International Circuit at the end of 2021 and brought in new sponsors.

CryptoDATA Tech became the majority shareholder in the team in November last year.
