Turkish paragliding champion to take on the skies of T'ganu in TIPCO 2017

BESUT: Kerem Dincer will get your adrenalin pumping or make you go weak in the knees with his death-defying stunts.

The youngest professional aerobatic paraglider from Turkey may be just 16-year-old but he has already made a name for himself in the field.

Dincer is expected to be in Malaysia soon, putting on a heart-stopping show at the upcoming Terengganu International Paragliding Competition (TIPCO) 2017 at Kota Putera Paragliding Park, Besut.

The competition is slated to run from May 12 to 16 and it is expect to pull in over 100 international stars.

They include Nepal’s Sano Babu Sunuwar, who has paraglided from atop Africa’s and Europe’s highest mountains, accomplished Spanish aerobatic professional Pablo Andreu Ocana and even Japanese model Ami Iwata.

In an interview, Dincer said he was fascinated by paragliding at the tender age of seven when he was introduced to the Slope Parachute sports.

He has his father to thank for largely, as Dincer senior runs a paragliding school back home.

“Through his guidance, I worked on training and eventually became Turkey’s Slope Parachute champion by age 12.

“Since then, the triumph had spurred me on and there is no looking back,” said Dincer.

Last year, Dincer won three international paragliding competitions with Turkey’s national team and has positioned himself for more glory this year.

“Competition is getting tougher with more talented paragliders emerging the world over.

“That is why I have to keep practicing and competing in more events to keep abreast with the challenges,” said Dincer.

The energetic youth is also much sought after professionally to perform aerobatics act and cross-country piloting of paramotors, as well as teach eager beavers with tandem manoeuvres and flying.
