Pakistan end Asia Cup campaign with 6-3 demolition of South Korea

PAKISTAN finally got their act together to clinically demolish South Korea 6-3 to end their Asia Cup hockey campaign with a bronze medal in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

It was a hat-trick of goals from Ajaz Ahmad (10th, 30th, 36th), Rashid Mehmood (26th), Abu Mahmood (32th) and Mohamed Yaqoob (56th) that handed them the medal.

Korea scored their goals off Suk Hoon Cho (20th), Namyong Lee (43rd) and Seo Inwoo (55th).

On the emphatic win, skipper Muhammad Irfan said: “If you analyse all our matches, there were too many chances that we missed. But in this match we made sure that didn’t happen. It was really good work put in by everybody and the end result is satisfying.

"I believe this is not the end of us. This is a new team and we will continue to strive for success.”
