Gymnast Farah stays focused in Manila

THE food may be bad, the traffic may be bad, the chaos of the Philippines Sea Games may be unsettling.

But all these are not going to throw artistic gymnast Farah Ann Abdul Hadi off rhythm in the Philippines Sea Games.

Farah, 25, competing in Manila for the first time, is the focused type who won’t let the environment affect her.

“We have come prepared and have brought our own food and supplies,” she said.

“We will try our best to adapt and overcome any problems that we might face.”

Farah certainly knows what the Sea Games is all about, having competed in three previous editions.

The vastly experienced gymnast aims to make an impact again in the biennial event.

In the individual events, Farah previously won the floor exercise gold in the 2015 and 2017 Sea Games.

“I feel physically and mentally prepared for the competition and I feel confident,” she added.

Malaysia won a total of three gold, two silver and one bronze in artistic gymnastics at the 2017 Kuala Lumpur Sea Games.
