KUALA LUMPUR: Irfan Shamsuddin managed a throw of 58.94m to finish sixth in the men's discus final at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Stadium today.
More was expected from Irfan, especially after winning a bronze with a throw of 59.63 at the Asian Championships in Bangkok in July.
Iran's Rasouli Hossein took gold in 62.04, while compatriot Hadadi Ehsan (61.28) settled for silver.
China's Abuduaini Tuergong took the bronze with 61.91.
