Triple jumper Andre falls 51 centimetres short of PB in Hangzhou

KUALA LUMPUR: Sea Games gold medallist Andre Anura Anuar recorded 16.00m in the Asian Games men's triple jump to finish eighth among 13 athletes in Hangzhou on Tuesday.

The Sabahan's effort was 51 centimetres short of his personal best (16.51m).

It was a 1-2 for China with Zhu Yaming (17.13) and Fang Yaoqing (16.93) taking gold and silver.

India's Praveen Chitharavel settled for bronze with 16.68m.
