SMG have to rediscover their identity, says Xorn as M5 World Championship heats up

KUALA LUMPUR: HomeBois star Zul Hisham Mohd Noor, better known by his nickname Xorn, is hoping to see fellow Malaysian team SMG bounce back strong at the ongoing Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) M5 World Championship in Manila.

SMG lost their opening group B match 2-0 to Turkiye's Fire Flux Esports yesterday.

Xorn believes SMG have to regroup and go into their remaining group matches fully focused on the task at hand.

"I think they have to rediscover their identity and find a way to become more compact and stronger, because all the teams competing here are strong," said Xorn yesterday.

"Although they lost to Fire Flux, it was not by a big margin, and they lost because of (lack of) discipline. If they can fix that, I believe they will make it through to the next stage."

SMG qualified for the world meet by virtue of finishing in the top-two during the wildcard competition held in Malaysia last month.

They will next play Blacklist International (Philippines) tomorrow.

HomeBois defeated Indonesia's Greek Fam 2-0 in their opening group D match yesterday and will next face Russia's Deus Vult on Wednesday.

In today's matches, Deus Vult defeated TheOhioBrothers (United States) 2-1 in a closely fought encounter, while in group C, Singapore's Team Flash downed Burmese Ghouls 2-1.
