Malaysia's Homebois fall to America's TheOhioBrothers in M5 World Championship

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian champions Homebois went down to TheOhioBrothers (TOB) of the United States and crashed out of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) M5 World Championship in Manila on Thursday.

Homebois needed a win over the eliminated TOB to advance to the knockout stage but suffered a 2-1 loss at the EVM Convention Centre.

Homebois had started their campaign by defeating Indonesia's Geek Fam 2-0 in their Group D opener last Saturday but lost 2-1 to Russia's DeusVult on Wednesday.

Homebois coach Khairul Azman Mohd Sharif said the pressure got to them.

"We felt nervous and the pressure. TOB was the last chance for us," said Khairul in the post-match press conference.

"The game against Geek Fam was different. Our momentum was lost because we had a break for four days... but that's not the reason for the loss.

"We didn't do much or do something different to make it hard for the opponents."

Homebois' loss saw the end of Malaysia's campaign in the M5 World Championship. Earlier, another Malaysian team, SMG, crashed out with one win and two losses in Group B.
