Sai Hung stages great comeback in Hong Kong

KUALA LUMPUR: Ong Sai Hung upset sixth seed and homester Wong Chi Him today to qualify for the Hong Kong Squash Challenge Cup quarter-finals.

World No. 158 Sai Hung came back from two sets down to win the second round match 9-11, 7-11, 11-8, 11-6, 12-10.

The Kuala Lumpur player will meet Hong Kong's Andes Ling next. Andes stunned Malaysia's fourth seed Syafiq Kamal 11-4, 11-8, 11-9.

Malaysia's second seed Chan Yiwen reached the quarter-finals after beating Egypt's Salma Elalfy 11-8, 11-1, 11-5.

Yiwen will face Colombia's fifth seed Catalina Pelaez next,

Pelaez ousted Japanese Sugimoto Risa 11-7, 8-11, 11-8, 11-3.

Four other Malaysians failed to reach the last eight.

Hafiz Zhafri was edged 8-11, 11-5, 11-6, 12-14, 11-13 by

Hong Kong's seventh seed Ka Hei Ho.

Duncan Lee lost 11-8, 10-12, 7-11, 11-3, 6-11 to Egypt's top seed Yassin Elshafei while Bryan Lim fell 11-13, 5-11, 11-7, 3-11 to Hong Kong's fifth seed Matthew Lim. Goh Zhi Xuan lost 12-10, 8-11, 9-11, 7-11 to Egypt's sixth seed Habiba Hani.
