Floods strike two areas in Shah Alam

KUALA LUMPUR: Two areas in Shah Alam, Selangor, have been hit by floods following heavy rain this afternoon.

The General Operations Force, in a statement today, said the affected areas were Kampung Kubu Gajah and Kampung Melayu Subang.

In Kampung Kubu Gajah, the force said the flood was estimated to be 0.6m deep, with a decreasing water level trend.

Sungai Buloh fire and rescue department firefighters were dispatched to the scene.

Meanwhile, in Kampung Melayu Subang, the flood resulted from the overflow of nearby rivers.

It said the water had begun to recede, with the current depth at 0.3m.

However there have been no evacuations or casualties in both areas.
