KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry continued to mobilise more healthcare workers to Sabah, to aid in the battle against Covid-19 in the state.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said a total of 522 personnel from various categories had been sent to Tawau, Lahad Datu, Semporna and Kota Kinabalu.

"Soon, we will send 11 more people which include three clinical experts and eight other experts," he said during a live press conference here, today.

He also urged more medical volunteers to come forward and help with the country's third wave of infections.

"Those who are interested and qualified can email to mobilisasi19@gmail.com or cprc@moh.gov.my."

Dr Noor Hisham also said Kudat Hospital has become the latest Covid-19 hospital in Sabah to take in patients in categories 3 to 5 of the infection.

This makes Kudat Hospital the eighth hospital in the state, after Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kota Kinabalu, Women and Children's Hospital, Likas, Duchess of Kent Hospital, Sandakan, Tawau Hospital, Keningau Hospital and Marudu Hospital.

Sabah today logged 291 out of 563 cases.
