Wangsa Maju residents living in fear of stray dogs

A resident of Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur, has complained about packs of stray dogs roaming around his neighbourhood and scaring people.

The 25-year-old complainant, who wanted to be known only as Azim, said: “I pity the children and the elderly. The dogs harass the residents,” he said.

“They barked at me as I was getting into my car. I was scared that they would attack me.”

Azim said he had lodged a complaint with the management committee of his flat and Kuala Lumpur City Hall, but there had been no response.

ACTIONLINE:

A Kuala Lumpur City Hall spokesman said a team of dog catchers would be sent to the location.

He said it would be better if the complainant could provide information on the location and time when the dogs would appear. “We will send our men to observe before taking action,” he said.
