AmBank offers DuitNow service for seamless transactions

KUALA LUMPUR: AmBank customers can now transfer money instantly and securely just by entering the recipient’s mobile phone number with the DuitNow service by Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

AMMB Holdings Bhd (AmBank Group) chief operations officer Datuk Iswaraan Suppiah said customers wishing to use the service just need to perform a simple one-time registration via AmOnline, AmBank’s Internet banking platform, to link their mobile number to their bank account number.

Alternatively, customers may choose to use their MyKad or MyPR identity card numbers, army or police identification numbers, passport numbers or business registration numbers to link with their bank accounts in order to receive money.

“DuitNow provides convenience and efficiency, and we have designed and incorporated it in AmOnline as a simple and easy to use feature for our customers.

“We have also introduced other new value-added features on our online banking platform to provide a more efficient online banking experience,” he said in a statement today.

This includes the one-step new credit card activation where customers can activate their cards via a 3-in-1 process, enabling them to use their cards within minutes of receiving it.

The AmOnline mobile application is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and it is now equipped with the quick access function that gives customers quicker access into their accounts.

AmBank Group said customers can also view their account balance just by looking at their phone via the facial recognition system, Face ID, or by using Touch ID, a fingerprint recognition feature.

Meanwhile, it said the AmOnline mobile banking application is now equipped with AMY, the nation’s first virtual assistant for customer service which has already been addressing all matters and enquiries pertaining to credit cards.

AmOnline is among the first online banking platforms in the country which is available in English, Bahasa Melayu and Chinese.
