Affin Bank, BMI recognised for entrepreneurial excellence at SME100 Awards 2021

KUALA LUMPUR: Affin Bank Bhd, in collaboration with Business Media International (BMI), has been recognised for entrepreneurial excellence for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with excellent track records at the SME100 Awards 2021.

Affin Bank president and group chief executive officer Datuk Wan Razly Abdullah Wan Ali said the bank is honoured to play an integral role in awarding some of the most thriving and inspiring SME companies in Malaysia.

"At Affin Bank, it is 'Always About You' and this year, we are dedicating two awards that recognise the outstanding entrepreneurial achievements of our SME community while continuing to offer steadfast support to this vital pillar of our country's economy", he said.

The Affin SME Icon Award was introduced in 2019 to recognise strong icons and success stories among Malaysian SMEs.

Affin Bank said this year, Senheng Electric (M) Sdn Bhd was selected as the only recipient of the award in acknowledgement of their humble conception in 1989 to become a market leader and a household name for consumer electronics.

"Senheng, who now owns over 100 electronic chain stores, truly embodies the spirit of Malaysian SMEs who are resilient, strong-willed and robust," it said.

Meanwhile, as a homage to these outstanding business leaders, Affin Bank has launched the AFFINGEM Women Entrepreneur Award to honour and celebrate women entrepreneurs.

The inaugural recipients of this award are Team Some Sdn Bhd, Dr Ariel Chang Clinic Sdn Bhd, Armila Berhad, Green Herbology Sdn Bhd and Star Glory Asia (M) Sdn Bhd, it added.
