Emirates Airlines to increase Dubai-KL flight frequency

KUALA LUMPUR: Emirates Airlines plans to increase its flight frequency between Dubai and Kuala Lumpur and further boost tourist visits to Malaysia from its extensive global network.

Emirates will be adding three additional flights a week from the airline's hub in Dubai to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) starting from June 24.

"The flights will fly to Kuala Lumpur on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays," it said.

Emirates currently flies 11 times weekly between Kuala Lumpur and Dubai.

The introduction of the additional weekly flights starting June 24 until November 30 will bring the number of weekly flights to 14.

All flights are operated using the airline's B777 aircraft.

Recently, Emirates clinched a deal with Tourism Malaysia to boost inbound visitors from the latter's 130 global destinations into the country.

The memorandum of collaboration (MoC) was signed to promote tourism and develop traffic into Malaysia from key markets across the airline's network.

Emirates also signed a codeshare agreement with Malaysian Airlines in 2016, offering customers seamless connections and more choice, frequent flyer benefits, and a world-class travel experience across the globe.

The agreement connects Malaysian Airlines' passengers to destinations in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas via Dubai, and Emirates' passengers across Malaysia, Southeast Asia, and selected Asia Pacific destinations via Kuala Lumpur.
