#Gaming: PUBG now available on mobile

KUALA LUMPUR: Starting today, fans of the wildly popular battle royale game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) can now conquer the battlefield on their smartphones.

PUBG Mobile, which is developed by Chinese game developer Tencent, is now available in Malaysia on both Android and iOS, via Google Play and the App Store, respectively.

The mobile version of PUBG will feature the same 100-player battle royale gameplay already available on the Windows PC and Xbox One.

The game's description on Google Play says the game also features high-quality graphics and HD audio, realistic weapons, voice chat for squad communication and powerful anti-cheat mechanisms, among others.

Unlike the original game on the PC, PUBG Mobile allows players to pick up items automatically, have access to aim assist as well as a variety of on-screen controls, including steering and pedals for driving.

PUBG Mobile is free to play and is rated 17-plus. For the best gaming experience, smartphones should be equipped with Android 5.1.1 or above and at least 2GB of RAM.

As for iPhone users, the game requires iOS 9.0 or later, and supports iPhones as old as iPhone 5S, although though the iPhone 6 is recommended.

The game takes up 892.7 MB of space on iOS and 674MB on Android.
