SUBANG JAYA: Acer has announced several refreshed models of its laptos, including the long-awaited Acer Nitro 5 powered by AMD's 7nm processor, Acer Spin 5, Acer Swift 1 and Aspire series.
Entry-level gaming
The Acer Nitro 5 is Acer's entry-level gaming laptop, and it is now equipped with Ryzen 7 4800H 8-core processor paired with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB GDDR6.
It features slim bezels and 15.6-inch FHD IPS display that supports 144Hz refresh rate. This would allow gamers to relax and enjoy their games and entertainment streaming.
Configured with 8GB RAM and 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD, the gaming laptop minimises loading time, while the additional RAM and M.2 slots allow gamers to upgrade the storage to their level of need.
Gamers will benefit from better speed, network stability and performance in the Acer Nitro 5, thanks to the combination of Intel Wireless Wi-Fi 6 and Killer Ethernet E2600.
To keep the system cool under heavy loads, several innovative thermal solutions with dual-fan cooling system, and quad intake and exhaust vents are implemented in the Acer Nitro 5 to achieve an overall 25 percent improvement in thermal performance over the 2019 model.
The WASD and arrow keys are highlighted on Acer Nitro 5's 4-zone RGB keyboard for quick location while the key response is immediate with a 1.6mm travel distance. This allows gamers to monitor, control and customise the system and RGB lighting effect with just a single touch of the dedicated NitroSense key.
The Acer Nitro 5 with AMD Ryzen 7 4800H which usually retails for RM4,099 can be purchased for RM3,999 during the current special Acer Day promotion period.
Multiple modes
The Acer Spin 5, meanwhile, allows users to flexibly rotate the screen into four different modes: display mode for presenting, tablet mode for entertainment, clamshell mode for keyboard input or tent mode to enable productivity even in a small spaces. Its new 360-degree hinge creates extra ventilation space at certain angles to provide better thermal performance, comfortable typing and immersive visual experience.
At just 1.2kg and 14.9 mm thin with a sleek magnesium-aluminum alloy body, the Spin 5 is very portable. Paired with Intel Iris Plus Graphics and 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD, the 2 variants of Acer Spin 5 are equipped 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with 16GB RAM and 10th Gen Intel Core i5 processor with 8GB RAM priced at RM5,299 and RM4,399 respectively.
For students
Designed with the needs of students and casual user in mind, Acer Swift 1 is equipped with Intel Pentium Silver N5030 Processor, 4GB RAM and 256GB superfast PCIe NVMe SSD to accommodate all the basic requirements of everyday computing. The 14-inch FHD IPS display featuring a narrow bezel design offers up to 84 percent screen-to-body ratio, delivering clearer and brighter visuals with Acer ExaColor and BlueLightShield.
The Acer Swift 1 features metal top and bottom covers and is ready to accompany users in their daily adventure, measuring just 14.95mm in height and weighing 1.3kg.
Pre-installed with Microsoft Office Home and Student 2019, the iridescent-coloured Acer Swift 1 will be available in early September 2020, while the safari gold-coloured Acer Swift 1 is available immediately at all Acer official online stores and all Acer authorized resellers nationwide at RM2,099. During the Acer Day promotion until Sept 30, 2020, it is priced at RM1,999.
Aspire 5 and Aspire 3
Refreshed with the latest 10th Gen Intel Core i5 processor, both Acer Aspire 5 and Aspire 3 come with 4GB RAM with additional slots for future upgrades. In term of storage, both Aspire 5 and 3 have 512GB superfast PCIe NVMe SSD, while Aspire 5 offers an HDD upgrade kit for users who need more storage while the Aspire 3 comes with 32GB Intel Optane Memory that will learn user behaviour and minimise loading time. In addition, the Aspire 5 is pre-installed with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2019 for immediate productivity.
