Experience virtual makeup try-on with Watson's new app

PETALING JAYA: L’Oreal’s Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality company, ModiFace, and A.S. Watson Group have launched the virtual makeup try-on, #ColourMe.

This makes ModiFace’s AR technology available to consumers across Asia on their mobiles.

ColourMe is a virtual try-on service which will now be available on the mobile app of Watsons, providing shoppers with an opportunity to virtually try on 300 makeup products, including lipsticks, mascara, eyeshadow, brow colouring and foundation.

Watsons Malaysia Managing Director Caryn Loh said the customer buying and decision making had changed over the years and they were also more tech savvy.

“Digitalisation in the customer journey experience in our partnership with L’Oreal’s #Colourme, is a perfect example of how we let them feel better connected with the L’Oreal brand, which empowers them to make better purchasing decisions,” she said at the launch yesterday.

Meanwhile, Managing Director of L’Oreal Malaysia and Singapore, Malek Bekdache said the technology would make shopping even more engaging and very personalised for customers.

Malaysian consumers will have an opportunity to experience this exciting virtual makeup try-on from our brands, Maybelline and L’Oreal Paris and transform the way they shop,” he added.

By using the app, users will be able to try on recommended trend looks, create and save their own look creations, as well as capture photos and videos for their makeup.

Products associated with each look can be delivered to the shopper’s home or collected from a local Watson store in as quickly as four hours. -- Bernama
