GEGAR VAGANZA (Season 2) victor Siti Nordiana and winner of the inaugural Malaysian Idol, Jaclyn Victor, combine their vocal prowess in a waltz number, a duet titled Nisan Cinta.
Marking their first music
collaboration together, the recording of the duet last May, however, had to be done separately due to the artistes’ busy schedules.
Written and composed by Hael Hussaini, Ezra Kong and Mike Chan, Nisan Cinta is the soundtrack for Global Station’s new television drama series Dendam Aurora, for Astro.
Siti Nordiana, or Nana as she is more fondly known, admitted that when she was offered to record the song with Victor, she was nervous.
“I have a soft and small voice. I was worried that Jaclyn would ‘drown out’ my vocals with her powerful voice,” said the 32-year-old Negri Sembilan-born artiste when contacted by the New Straits Times recently.
“I managed to get my hands on the end product and I was surprised to find our vocals blended well.”
The element of waltz in Nisan Cinta did prove to be a challenge for Nana, who is known for her pop ballad hits.
“It took me a while to find the right vocal style to suit the overall feel of the song,” said the winner of the recent Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian 3.0’s Most Popular Female Singer.
For Victor, she is elated to have been given a chance to work with Nana, who is the more experienced singer.
“Nana is a well-rounded artiste who has enjoyed tremendous success, be it in singing or acting.
“I feel really privileged to be working on a song with her,” said the Gemilang singer.
Although Nisan Cinta has yet to be released, a short teaser of the tune has been made available on social media. It has been attracting attention from Netizens, which the two artistes are thankful for.
On another development, Nana is set to star in Michael Ang’s TV drama Pengantin Musim Salju, with singer-actor and TV host Alif Satar.
Victor, on the other hand, is putting in the final touches to her new single, slated for a year-end release.
Dendam Aurora stars Nabila Huda, Ungku Ismail Aziz, Anzalna Nasir and Oktavia Manrose.
It will premiere on July 25 on Astro Prima (Channel 105) and Maya HD (Channel 135).
