G-Dragon's upcoming Malaysian concert rescheduled, ticket sales announced

KUALA LUMPUR: South Korean superstar G-Dragon was set to thrill Malaysian fans at his World Tour Act III, M.O.T.T.E concert on Sept 16.

However, due to the celebration of Malaysia Day falling on the same day, the concert will be postponed to Sept 17.

The show location remains the same, at Stadium Merdeka, but the concert will begin at 7pm instead of 7.30pm.

G-Dragon fans can start purchasing tickets to the his show at V Boulevard Entrance of the Sunway Velocity Mall in Cheras on July 29 from 10am to 3pm.

Tickets are priced at RM690 (Rock Zone, free standing), RM710 (VIP, numbered seat), RM590 (Cat 1, numbered seat), RM490 (Cat 2, numbered seat), RM390 (Cat 3, numbered seat), RM298 (Cat 4, free seating) and RM210 (Cat 5, free seating).

At the on-ground sale, each person can purchase a maximum of 10 tickets and each ticket comes with a giant concert poster, but only on a first-come-first-served basis.

Meanwhile, online purchase will commence on the same day from 4pm onwards via TicketCharge (www.ticketcharge.com.my).

Starting from July 31, tickets will be available at TicketCharge offices in Penang and Kuala Lumpur; selected Speedy video, Rock Corner and Chambers Music outlets; PJ Live Arts; as well as the information counter at The Mines and 1 Shamelin shopping malls.

Fans from outside the Klang Valley can purchase the tickets at Eden Ultimate in Kuantan, Pahang, and Blonde Brunette in Penang. Alternatively, call the TicketCharge hotline at 03-92228811.

Rock Zone or VIP ticket holders are entitled to a lucky draw where they can win sound check passes, selected based on their tickets’ barcodes.

After training for six years under YG Entertainment, rapper, singer-songwriter and record producer G-Dragon had made his debut in 2006 in BigBang, which is now one of South Korea’s biggest selling boy groups to date.

To date, the 28-year-old has written over 23 hit songs for his own albums, including One Of A Kind and Crayon; as well as for BigBang, namely Loser, Lies and Bang Bang Bang.

In 2009, G-Dragon debuted as a soloist and had won numerous awards individually and as a group with Bigbang, throughout the years.

The superstar, whose real name is Kwon Jiyong, does not only excel in talents but also in fashion. Famously known for his unique fashion sense, he has worked with multiple international designers, even becoming a brand ambassador for Chanel in Korea.

The influential idol had kickstarted his G-Dragon 2017 World Tour Act III, M.O.T.T.E tour in June in Seoul. Other stops will include 29 cities in Asia, North America as well as Europe.

The tour reflects the idol’s “loneliness and anguish hidden behind the glamorous life that was born from his massive success”.

World-famous creative director Willo Perron, who has lent his creative touch to the most innovative global artistes such as Rihanna, Kanye West, and Drake, is collaborating with G-Dragon on this much-anticipated tour.
