KUALA LUMPUR: Legendary rockers Wings comprising Datuk Awie, Black, Edrie Hashim, Eddie and Syam are offering Rahmah prices as low as RM95 for their upcoming concert tickets.
Wings' concert themed 'Konsert Wings The Rock Emperor - Kuala Lumpur Chapter' will take place at Stadium Malawati, Shah Alam at 8.30pm on Dec 16.
Lead vocalist Awie said that the Rahmah prices were specially for Malaysians of all ages and from all walks of life to enjoy the two-hour concert.
"We are also offering 10 per cent discounts for concert-goers aged 7 and above, handicapped people with OKU cards and students who purchase the Rockzone seats," he said in a news report today.
"These prices target parents who plan to attend with their pre-teen children."
To date, more than 50 per cent of tickets to the concert jointly organised by Rumah Produksi Merah with the support of Awie Entertainment have been sold.
Rumah Produksi aims to sell 7,000 tickets.
"We have been rehearsing hard for the last two weeks and promise an extraordinary concert evening with songs from all of our albums since 1987," said Awie, adding that the band's longtime fan club Sayap-Sayap Wings had conducted a Facebook survey to determine the
songs which fans wanted.
"There will be many songs from the albums 'Menakluk Kosmos' and 'Naga Keramat', including those which we have seldom performed live. In addition, we will debut some songs from our latest album in the concert."
Awie also said that the concert was specially to introduce Wings and their music to the younger generation of rock fans.
"There will be a special segment where we will sing cover versions of famous rock acts around the world. These are the songs which have always inspired us throughout our journey which began in 1987."
