(Showbiz) Actress Nur Fathia sacked following commitment issues?

KUALA LUMPUR: After failing to give her commitment to drama series La Luna, popular actress Nur Fathia Abdul Latiff has been dropped from the cast by the production, TenView Sdn Bhd.

Show producer Norazah Sahud said: "After much discussion, we decided to let her go on Friday because she had clearly shown a lack of obligation towards her role in the series."

Norazah told Harian Metro that Fathia, 30, had filmed 35 scenes during the past two weeks, but the actress always arrived late to the set and at times she had appeared lethargic.

"Even if she did come early, it was the result of the production team who painstakingly reminded her of her call time. We can't be doing that every day when we have more important things to manage."

"When she comes late, we let it go as we could still resume filming afterwards, but on Friday, she didn't even show up. She definitely crossed the line this time."

Norazah added that she was initially reluctant to cast Fathia since the actress was known for having disciplinary problems. However, she said, the Ariana Rose star had given her undertaking to behave and change her attitude.

"So when this issue happened, I'm sorely disappointed because she had misused the trust that we had given her. She sent us an apology text, but we've had enough of her attitude."

The producer said TenView couldn't be taking any more risks that might affect the whole production, especially after Fathia was linked to a video controversy involving new actress Natasha Elyzza recently.

Following Fathia's departure, La Luna's production team is forced to not only cast another actress to play her role but also reshoot all the scenes that had Fathia in it.

"We are also in talks of taking a legal action against her," Norazah added.

Meanwhile, it was reported earlier that a video found on the mobile application Bigo Live saw Natasha and another woman resembling Fathia, dancing in revealing clothes.

Natasha however denied that the other individual was Fathia.
