Indonesian singer Marcell melts hearts in first solo concert at KLCC

KUALA LUMPUR: Indonesian singer Marcell Siahaan charmed his way into the hearts of 2,000 fans during his first solo concert at the Plenary Hall, KLCC here last night.

The crooner performed 40 tunes, including hits Hanya Memuji and Semusim, which were clearly the crowd’s favourites.

But his powerhouse vocals and hit tunes weren’t the only things that blew fans away.

The crowd was floored when the 40-year-old invited his wife, Rima Melati Adam, on stage and surprised her by gifting a customised ring in celebration of their nine years of marriage.

"I also wanted to ask if you will continue to be by my side for another 40 years or more," Marcell said, to which Rima replied “yes.”

"For the past nine years of our marriage, she has stuck by me through so many ups and downs. Thank you sayang, for everything," he said.

The couple then teamed up for a duet of Very Thought Of You.

Titled Once In A Lifetime, the concert was held to celebrate Marcell's 15th anniversary as a singer, as well as his 40th birthday.

Guest performers like Noh Salleh (lead singer of alternative rock band Hujan) and Indonesian actress-turned-singer Raline Shah also joined him on stage.

The event was a four-party joint collaboration between Marcell, Empire Live, VMC Music Indonesia and Oleg Sanchabakhtiar (from Planet Design Indonesia).
