Siti Nurhaliza now a 'Datuk Seri'

PEKAN: Malaysia's number one singer Datuk Siti Nurhaliza Taruddin and three other celebrities were among 101 recipients conferred with state awards by the Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah, today.

The 38-year-old received the Sri Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (SSAP) award which carries the title of 'Datuk Seri'.

Pahang Regent, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah conferred the state awards and medals on the recipients at a ceremony held at Istana Abu Bakar in conjunction with the sultan’s birthday.

Three other celebrities who received the state honours were actor Datuk Eizlan Yusof, who's real name is Datuk Idris Md. Yusof. He was also conferred the SSAP award.

Fashion designer, Jovian Mandagie Sdn Bhd chief executive director Jovian Mandagie was conferred the Darjah Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (DSAP) which carries the title 'Datuk'.

Singapore-born actor, Adi Putra or Mohamed Hadi Putera Halim, who is the Patron of the Johor Society of 1 Care Society received the Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP) with the title 'Datuk'.
