(Showbiz) Harith Iskander takes pride of wife as first woman PhD holder for Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering in UKM

KUALA LUMPUR: Last year, Malaysians celebrated actor-comedian Harith Iskander for winning Laugh Factory’s Funniest Person In The World competition.

But yesterday the father-of-three was all about celebrating his wife for becoming the first woman in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) to receive a PhD in Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering.

Harith’s wife, Dr Jezamine Lim received her scroll at the UKM's 54th convocation ceremony last weekend.

Gushing over Jezamine achievement, he took to social media by writing a heartwarming message for her via his Instagram account.

“This is the most amazingly resilient woman I know. 6 years ago she embarked on a journey to complete a PhD in Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering.

“Along the way she had three beautiful kids, produced two international comedy festivals and lead one Malaysian comedian (that’s me) to become Laugh Factory’s Funniest Person In The World.

“Today she became the first woman in her PhD holder in her tissue engineering field. I’m so proud of her – she is a shining example that you can achieve anything you put your mind to. @drjezaminelim you’re my hero,” he said.

Meanwhile, Jezamine in her Instagram post, thanked Harith for supporting her throughout the long journey. “Thank you for putting up with me. Days when I needed my Sunday to myself- just to write, he was there.

“He wipes my tears and tuck me to sleep on my horrible rainy nights. Thank you my sayang @harithiskander.”

Harith and Jezamine tied the knot in 2010 they have three kids together; Zander Xayne Iskander, 5, Alessandra Jayne Iskander, 3, and Zydane Xayne Iskander, 2.
