(Showbiz) G-Dragon and Taeyang set to enlist in first half of next year

KUALA LUMPUR: Fans of South Korean mega-group BigBang are surely dreading its members' imminent mandatory military service.

The oldest member, T.O.P, had enlisted in February this year, but it looks like his fellow members G-Dragon and Taeyang won't be able to postpone theirs any longer.

BigBang's agency YG Entertainment reported yesterday that the two stars are expected to enlist in the first half of next year, according to Soompi.

The group had even hinted at G-Dragon and Taeyang's enlistments during their concert in Japan on Dec 13, saying, “We’re truly sad that once this tour is over, we won’t be able to see you for a short while.”

The remaining group members, Daesung and Seungri who are younger, are still able to delay their enlistment but it hasn't been confirmed if they would.

They were previously speculated to want to enlist together with G-Dragon and Taeyang so that the group's hiatus from showbiz will be shorter.

Meanwhile, Taeyang had recently announced his upcoming marriage to actress Min Hyo-rin in February next year, saying, “I plan to register our marriage before I enlist in the army.”

In other news, BigBang will hold its last concert of the year, titled BIGBANG 2017 Concert ‘Last Dance’ In Seoul, at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on Dec 30 and 31.
