(Showbiz) K-rapper Heize rushed to hospital after fainting

KUALA LUMPUR: South Korean singer-songwriter and rapper Heize was rushed to the hospital after fainting following her performance at the 2017 SBS Gayo Daejun festival yesterday in Seoul.

According to a news report by Soompi, she was previously diagnosed with pharyngitis, a sore throat caused by inflammation of the back of the throat.

Prior to her collapse, she was reportedly vomiting and had a high fever, but her condition had taken a turn for the worse after her performance.

The 26-year-old’s spokesperson said Heize’s extremely busy schedule might have something to do with her deteriorating health.

“Based on her diagnosis at the hospital, it has been decided that she will undergo surgery.

“For now, her progress must be observed, and it appears that she will be unable to move forward with her plans and scheduled activities for the immediate future.”

Heize, whose real name is Jang Da-hye, took home the awards for Best Vocal Performance Female Solo and Best Hip Hop and Urban Music at the 2017 Mnet Asian Music Awards last month.

She is popular for her songs Don't Come Back, And July, Star and You, Rain, Clouds.
