ON Feb 24, celebrated comedian Harith Iskander will take to the stage at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur to present Celcom Harith Iskander’s #KitaOK Live Comedy Tour 2018.
“With new insights on what it means to represent Malaysia on the world stage, I wish to unite the people and incite the true meaning of being a Malaysian through my signature theatrical style of comedy based on our history, culture and other funny things that make us uniquely Malaysians.
“I hope this show will act as a clarion call to Malaysians to look at the brighter side of things amid whatever upheaval the country has to endure, and
to count our blessings for the peace, harmony and, of course, laughter we Malaysians continue to enjoy,” said Harith.
In the early years, through his innate talent for producing and performing humour based on everyday Malaysian way of life, Harith was the first to introduce local stand-up comedy that Malaysians from all walks of life have grown to love.
After conquering the local comedy scene for the past 27 years, Harith succeeded in putting Malaysia on the comedy map twice by winning Laugh Factory’ s Funniest Person in the World 2016 competition and by releasing a Netflix original comedy special.
In spite of his international achievements, Harith takes pride in his comedy sketches that wittily capture unique Malaysian cultures as a result of the nation’s multiracial society.
It is no surprise then that Harith, in partnership with Celcom, will tour his home ground again to deliver the laughs.
After the kick-off show in Kuala Lumpur, Harith will perform in Johor Baru on March 1, Melaka on March 9, Penang on March 10, Kuching on March 14, Kota Kinabalu on March 15 and Labuan on March 16.
Celcom Axiata Bhd deputy chief executive officer (business operations) Azwan Khan Osman Khan said Celcom was proud to present the tour that signified the support and contribution towards Malaysians’ solidarity.
