KUALA LUMPUR: Depression, a debilitating disease can strike anyone, even “tough guy” actor Remy Ishak isn’t spared.
The 36-year-old artiste admitted yesterday he had suffered from depression two years ago, during the filming of Pulang.
“My depression wasn’t that severe, but I felt really ‘down’ back then. Several unfortunate incidents had befallen me - I was threatened and there was a break-in at my house,” said Remy, adding that his mood-swings made his work on the set a big challenge.
While he did not seek psychiatric help, he overcame it with prayer and reflection.
“I’m not one to let it all out when faced with personal problems. I fight all challenges like a real man,” said Remy at the Gala preview of Pulang at GSC Pavilion cineplex in Jalan Bukit Bintang, here, yesterday.
The film opens in cinemas on July 26.
