#Showbiz: Celebs show sympathy for Haneesya after stripped of title

KUALA LUMPUR: Haneesya Hani received some love and words of encouragement from her seniors in the entertainment industry, after her Dewi Remaja 2018/2019 title was officially stripped off yesterday.

Amidst the backlash she received from Netizens following the controversial video of her “wild night” at a nightclub, several celebrities came forward to cheer the 18-year-old lass up.

Popular TV host Datuk Aznil Nawawi took to Instagram to write Haneesya an open letter and encouraged her to stay strong.

“Hanee, you are still young and mistakes are inevitable, but what matters is how you get back up, fix what has been done and move forward.

“It’s not just a lesson for you to learn, but for others as well. You grew up without a father, maybe you had no father figure to guide you.

“But experience is the best teacher. Learn and move on,” he wrote in his Insta-story post recently.

Meanwhile, actress Janna Nick in a video post concurred with Aznil’s wise words and advised her to treat the unfortunate incident as a big lesson.

“I was a bit disappointed when I first saw the video but I felt sorry for her when she was dethroned.

“We don’t know the challenges and troubles she faced to win the competition.

Janna noted that despite Haneesya’s mistakes, Netizens shouldn’t point fingers at her mother in this situation.

“It has nothing to do with her mother. She is a big girl. A person’s behaviour isn’t always a reflection of how they were raised.

“To Hanee, don’t give up but don’t repeat it,” she said.

Another actress, Fasha Sandha also assured Haneesya that it was perfectly fine to make mistakes.

“It’s undeniable — we all make mistakes. It’s in our nature as humans to fail,” she said.

And in the heat of speculation that the viral video was spread around by the other contestants, Fasha warned Haneesya to be careful when choosing friends as not everyone liked to see their friends succeed.

Meanwhile, former 1990 Dewi Remaja finalist, actress Didie Alias wrote on her Instagram page that the controversy served as a big lesson to Haneesya and to others who wish to build a career in the industry.

“A golden opportunity like this doesn’t come by often. What happened to Haneesya was a great lesson that many youngsters should learn from.

“Nowadays, you can’t really tell who your real friends are,” she wrote.

Checks on Haneesya’s Instagram saw a video post of her apology to her followers and fans and the organisers behind Dewi Remaja.

“There is nothing else to say but I’m so sorry...,” she wrote.
