#Showbiz: Tickets for Blue concert almost sold out

KUALA LUMPUR: British boyband Blue, which returns to Malaysia after 16 years this March 3, is still hot in the eyes of local fans, judging by its ticket sales.

More than 70 per cent of the 2,500 tickets for the quartet’s concert Blue Live In Malaysia 2019 at Dewan Wawasan Convention And Exhibition Centre, Menara PGRM, Cheras here, have been snapped up.

Co-organiser KC And Friends’ chief executive officer Kesavan Purusotman said three out of the six ticket categories had been sold out over the last week, namely VVIP (RM598), Category 3 (RM158) and Category 4 (RM98).

Only VIP (RM398), Category 1 (RM258) and Category 2 (RM208) tickets are available, but are selling fast.

“Alongside our co-organisers and partners TerryandTheCuz, we are incredibly excited to bring Blue Live In Malaysia. We are grateful for the opportunity to help relive one of the best music eras in history, the boyband era, with an enthralling 60 to 75-minute, non-stop live concert by this popular group,” he said at the launch of the concert in Pavilion Hotel, Jalan Bukit Bintang today.

TerryandTheCuz chief executive officer Terence Conrad said local and regional fans attending the group’s concert have been assured that it would be a memorable and incredible evening filled with great music and loads of fun.

“Warming up the crowd on the decks at the concert will be our very own DJ Jakeman,” he said, referring to Astro Radio chief executive officer Jake Abdullah.

Blue which comprises Lee Ryan, Simon Webbe, Duncan James and Antony Costa has sold more than 16 million records.

Their first single All Rise was released in 2001, and their hit singles from three No. 1 albums also include One Love, Best In Me, If You Come Back, Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word (with Sir Elton John) and You Make Me Wanna.

Blue announced its Summer Tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland last year, and will entertain fans at Zepp@BIGBOX in Singapore on March 2.

Its Malaysian concert at 8.30pm the following day is expected to attract 2,500 people.
