#Showbiz: Rockstar Awie to sell concert tickets manually

KUALA LUMPUR: They say once bitten twice shy. But for Wings frontman Datuk Azhar Othman or Awie who has been “bitten” three times, enough is enough.

The 50-year-old rockstar, who in the past had opted for online ticketing agents to ease ticket purchasing for fans, said that he had been cheated in all three occasions.

“Before this, my company (Awie Entertainment) had organised three sold-out concerts. However, the profit did not tally with the number of audience who turned-up. So we ended up with losses.

“There were also irresponsible parties who had the cheek to sell counterfeit tickets at lower prices,” he said in a news report today.

So to avoid any problems, Awie who is the organiser for Konsert Laksamana Metal 2 Generasi Wings Dan Bunkface on May 4 at Dewan Merdeka, Putra World Trade Centre, has decided to sell the tickets manually.

“For this concert, I’ve decided to sell the tickets manually and directly to our fans without involving any ticketing agents,” he said.

Tickets for the May 4 concert are priced at RM150 and RM450.
