#Showbiz: BlackPink in Forbes 2019's 30 Under 30 Asia list

KUALA LUMPUR: Looks like red hot K-Pop group BlackPink has made an impression again in the international scene.

According to Soompi, the female quartet had made it into the annual list of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Asia for 2019.

The popular American business magazine recently revealed the list, which features 30 individuals or groups under the age of 30 who are considered the most influential within 10 categories in Asia.

The list has a total of 300 entries chosen from more than 2,000 nominations. Aside from BlackPink, other Korean celebrities in the 30 spots for the Entertainment & Sports category include K-Pop artiste CL and actress Kim Tae Ri.

Previously, K-Pop artistes who have made it into the list include BTS in 2018, Eric Nam, Jessica and Jay Park in 2017, as well as G-Dragon, Yoona and Choi Siwon in 2016.

Meanwhile, Koreaboo reported that fans of BlackPink, dubbed Blinks, are not happy with the way member Lisa has been treated by the group’s agency, YG Entertainment.

With the group’s new EP, Kill This Love, dropping on Friday, many teasers have been released. Fans noticed that an early teaser poster of Lisa wasn’t tagged on Twitter.

Later, her uploaded teaser video was not tagged by YG Entertainment either. Apparently, Blinks in China also noticed that the 22-year-old idol was the only member to have her video completely hidden on Weibo.

Fans were naturally puzzled by the probable mistakes. Others expressed their disappointment at the agency and called for it to remedy the situation, which they felt was disrespectful to the leggy BlackPink member.
