#Showbiz: Big Hit Entertainment announces 2019 global auditions!

KUALA LUMPUR: Those who dream of becoming a bona fide K-Pop idol in a music group with the potential to be the next BTS now have the golden opportunity to do so.

Big Hit Entertainment, which is the successful South Korean agency behind the international K-Pop sensation BTS and hot new boy band TXT, has announced its 2019 global auditions.

According to Soompi today, the official announcement will see auditions held in eight different locations around the world this year.

The sessions will kick off first in New York, USA on May 18. The other auditions will be held in Toronto in Canada (May 25), Beijing (July 6) and Shanghai (July 7) in China, as well as Taipei in Taiwan (July 13), Sydney in Australia (July 27), Bangkok in Thailand (Oct 5) and Hong Kong (Oct 13).

Big Hit is currently on the lookout for hunky males born in 1999 or later with outstanding talents in the vocal, rap, dance, acting or modeling categories.

On another note, the flourishing agency has teamed up with Mnet, which is under the famous South Korean entertainment and mass media company CJ ENM, to launch a joint company named Belift Lab.

The company will also be holding global auditions for a new music group and are apparently looking for males born between 1997 and 2008. The new boy band is expected to debut in 2020.

It has been revealed that auditions for this collaborative project will begin in Busan, South Korea on May 11 before heading to Seoul on May 26.

This will be followed by further auditions in Taiwan and Vietnam in June, as well as Thailand and Japan in July, before a final audition session in the US in August.
