#Showbiz: 'It's sad how some people treat artistes like us'

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Wan Aishah Wan Ariffin finds it insulting the way Datuk Seri Vida handled yesterday’s special press conference which was supposedly held to hand over the agreed jewellery pieces.

“I’m only asking for what has been promised. I didn’t expect her to pull such a condescending gimmick. It’s sad how some people treat artistes like us,” she said in news report yesterday.

Aishah, 54, also said Vida, whose real name is Hasmiza Othman, should not be questioning about her claim to the promised diamond jewellery amounting to RM80,000 as it had already been included into the grand prize after the entrepreneur herself had announced it during the seventh episode of Gegar Vaganza Season 4 (GV4) in 2017.

“It’s obvious what her real intention was when she resorted to such a stunt in presenting the jewellery at the press conference. Do you think it’s normal and sincere for one to lump the diamonds together with crisps, when presenting a gift?”

Aishah also added that she was not at the event since she was not informed of the actual time and location until someone told her the event was at the time taking place and could be viewed live on social media.

At the event, Vida showed to the Press the jewellery which had been selected by Aishah. They are two pieces of loose diamonds, each priced at RM27,100 and RM12,920. They were displayed on a tray which were scattered with salted egg fish skin crisps!
