#Showbiz: Enlisted idols from Exo, Shinee, BTOB and more record army song together

KUALA LUMPUR: You can take the boys out of their K-Pop bands but you can’t take the songs from them. It seems that some idols who are now carrying out their mandatory military service have created a tune together.

According to Soompi, a SpoTV News report yesterday revealed that several idols and actors have recently wrapped up recording an army song.

The celebs involved include Shinee’s Onew and Key, Exo’s Xiumin, 2am’s Jo Kwon and Jeong Jinwoon, Wanna One’s Yoon Ji Sung, Infinite’s Sunggyu and BTOB’s Changsub, as well as actors Kim Min Suk and Lee Jae Kyoon.

Apparently, a source informed SpoTV News that the song was a new kind of army tune that will be easy to sing along to rather than the usual stiff and masculine ones that came before.

The purpose of the song was to promote the image of a “friendly military.” The source said: “I’ve heard that the recording went well because celebrity military officers with excellent skills took part.”

Last Wednesday, singer Hong Seokmin shared a photo of the idols in a recording booth with the caption: “Thank you for working hard. It must have been annoying to receive direction from me, haha. Anyway, I hope you’ll finish your military life in good health.”

The song is expected to be released sometime in August.
